Setload is a workout tracker. It works fully without an account, shows no ads, does not track you across apps, and never sells your data. This page explains exactly what is collected, why, and how to delete it.
Who runs Setload
Setload is operated by an individual developer (name disclosed without delay on request)(Japan). Contact us about privacy at privacy@setload.app.
Without an account: nothing leaves your phone
Your workouts, sets, routines, body measurements, progress photos and settings are stored on your device. If you never sign in, none of it is sent to us.
Progress photos always stay on your device. Setload does not upload them, even with an account.
With an account (optional)
Signing in lets you back up your training and use it on more than one device. Then we store:
- Your email address, to sign you in with a one-time link and to reach you about your account.
- Your training data: workouts, exercises, sets, routines, body measurements and settings, so they can be synced and backed up. Photos are not included.
- A few account facts:
- your country, worked out from the network when you sign in (we do not store your IP address);
- the platform and app version you signed up with, and your app version on each device;
- when you were last active.
- Purchase records if you subscribe: product, store and dates, received from Apple or Google through RevenueCat. We never see your card or payment details.
Marketing emails are sent only if you opt in, and you can opt out at any time.
Diagnostics and analytics
To fix crashes and improve the app, Setload may send crash reports and anonymous usage events. Before anything is sent, the app removes your email, names, exercise names, weights, reps, notes and photo references. These reports are not linked to your identity, and you can turn usage analytics off in Settings.
Sharing
Workout cards and stickers are made on your device. They are shared only when you choose to share them, to the app you pick.
Who processes data for us
We use these service providers, only to run Setload:
- Contabo: server hosting (European Union (Germany)).
- Cloudflare: network security, and storage of encrypted backups.
- Resend: sending sign-in emails.
- RevenueCat: managing subscriptions bought through Apple or Google.
- Sentry: crash reports.
- PostHog: anonymous product analytics.
They may process data in other countries. We only use providers bound by data-protection terms.
How long we keep it, and deleting your account
Your account data is kept while your account exists. You can delete your account at any time in the app: Settings → Account → Delete account. You can also email privacy@setload.app from the address you signed in with (see Account deletion).
When you delete your account:
- every device is signed out immediately;
- your data is erased from our live database within 48 hours;
- copies in our encrypted backups expire automatically: daily backups after 30 days, monthly backups after 12 months. Backups are used only to recover from a disaster.
Data on your phone stays until you delete the app.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information), you can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your data, or object to how we use it. Email privacy@setload.app. We reply within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data-protection authority.
Security
All connections use HTTPS. Backups are encrypted before they leave our server, and only the operator holds the key. Our admin tools sit behind separate sign-in and never show workout contents.
Children
Setload is not intended for children under 13 (under 16 in the EEA and UK). We do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its date. For important changes, we will also tell you in the app.
